My child want to be goth, and I just don't know what to do?

I've always been one to listen, and after hearing that it it more of a lifestyle around art, music, history, and generally looking into the taboos of dark things, without actually being bad, it doesn't sound so bad, rather even very good. Honestly, if it is as he says it is, and it isn't just a fashion statement and trying to look dark, it would even really fit him by how he has been all his life. But there is so much bad rap for it, and I just can't stand to see him seen alongside it. What should I do?
