Should I get my lip pierced again?

I used to have my lip pierced (my upper lip, monroe). I got it done last month. It was pierced for about a week but I forgot to tighten the ball so it came loose and fell off. I tried to get the bar back in but it was stubborn. I was very iffy about my piercing and even thought about taking it out. However, the first three days after my piercing I missed it. It was kind of a bummer because I wanted to try some new rings out after it healed up with my current one. I haven't missed it much but it does feel like something should be there but it isn't (I do feel a lump where it used to be) and someone told me that I got used to it. The only thing is that it would be another $40 and I can't wear it at work, even with a band-aid covering it. I also don't want to feel iffy about it again.
